Summer 2022
The July/August issue of Embroidery –The Textile Art Magazine arrived last week.

I am thrilled to have a six page feature in the magazine, a profile written by Ellen Bell, illustrated with images by Michael Wicks from Embroidery Atelier – Visions & Passions.

Embroidery magazine has throughout my career highlighted my embroidery work. Reflecting on past press features, I glanced at an article which appeared in a 1978 issue of Embroidery! The images show my 1970s hallmark style of delicate painted, quilted patterns for fashion, and the iconic ‘Waterlily’ waistcoat that entranced the eyes of a Vogue writer and the fashion designer Bill Gibb.

A passion for stitch spans the decades since that first 1978 feature in Embroidery magazine. As you browse the pages of my latest book, I hope the world of creative embroidery will inspire some magical moments with your own sewing machine, just as it continues to do for me!

And finally………..

The sight of butterflies in summertime meadows and gardens is always a joy.

One embroidered accessory created especially for Embroidery Atelier, pays homage to these winged beauties and resonates with nostalgic images from my childhood.
